Psychological Abstracts. Washington: American Psychological Association, 1927–. Provides nearly two million references to journal articles, books, book chapters, and dissertations from journals in psychology and related fields published from 1840 to the present, most of them with abstracts. A thesaurus of the subject descriptors is available to determine the most effective search terms. The electronic version of this index is titled PsycINFO and covers publications from 1840 to the present; in some libraries PsycINFO provides selected links to full-text articles. Recently added material also includes the sources cited in a work and links to works that have cited a given article.
